İktisat biliminin temel konularından biri gelir dağılımıdır. Gelir dağılımının adaletli olması konusu ise son dönemlerde genel olarak bütün ülkelerin iktisat politikalarının temel amaçlarından biri olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Gelir dağılımı, hem sosyal hem de ekonomik bir problem olarak görülmektedir. Kişisel gelir dağılımının hesaplanmasında temelde iki ölçüt kullanılmaktadır. Bunlardan biri Gini Katsayısı iken diğeri de Lorenz Eğrileri’dir. Genelde ekonometrik analizlerde gösterge olarak daha çok Gini katsayısı tercih edilmektedir. Bir ülkenin yıllar itibariyle Gini katsayıları ile sosyal ve makroekonomik göstergeleri arasında ilişkiler kurularak değişkenler arasındaki etkileşim tespit edilebilmektedir. Bu çalışmada ekonomik büyüme ve gelir dağılımı arasındaki ilişki 20 üst orta gelir grubuna sahip ülke için Panel Veri Analizi tekniği kullanılarak test edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonucuna göre ise gini katsayısındaki artışlar ekonomik büyümeyi azaltmaktadır. Bulunan bu negatif ilişki literatürü desteklemektedir.
One of the main topics of economics science is income distribution. The issue of fair distribution of income has been highlighted as one of the main objectives of economic policies of all countries in general in recent periods. Income distribution is seen as a social and economic problem. In the calculation of the personal income distribution, two criteria are used. One of them is the Gini Catch, the other is the Lorenz Curvels. Generally, the Gini ratio is preferred as an indicator in the econometric analysis. In the years of a country, the relationships between the Gini ratio and the social and macroeconomic indicators can be established and the interaction between the variables can be identified. In this study, the relationship between economic growth and income distribution was tested using Panel Data Analysis technique for countries with the top 20 middle-income groups. According to the results of the analysis, the increase in the ginseng rate reduces economic growth. This negative relationship is supported by literature.
Income distribution is one of the basic subjects of economics. The issue of fair income distribution has been drawing attention as one of the most important objectives of the economic policies of all countries in general. The issue of income distribution is seen as both a social and an economic problem. There are two basic criteria in the calculation of personal income distribution. One of them is the Gini Coefficient and the other is Lorenz Curves. Generally, Gini coefficient is preferred in econometric analysis. By establishing relationships between the Gini coefficients of a country over the years and its social and macroeconomic indicators, the interaction between variables can be determined. In this study, the relationship between economic growth and income distribution was tested using Panel Data Analysis technique for 20 upper middle income countries. According to the analysis results, increases in the gini coefficient decrease economic growth. This negative relationship found supports the literature.
