Ahmet Remzi (Akyürek) from Kayseri is a Mevlevi Dede. As of the period he lived, he witnessed the end of the Ottoman Empire and the first 20 years of the Republic. Therefore, his life story and poems are important both for the history of literature and culture and for the social and political history of the recent period. He was unable to maintain many of his characteristics as an Ottoman remnant during the Republican period. It was assumed that it would be useful to convey this person, who lived through the harmony and pains of the transition period, as a living history portrait for future generations, and this article was written. An important part of the information about Ahmet Remzi Dede's life differs in biographical sources or in various publications made about him until today. The aforementioned differences in knowledge were compared with his poems and transferred through a filter of criticism. The information about Ahmet Remzi Dede's life is discussed under the subtitles of his family, education and civil service his Sufi and literary aspects were evaluated under the titles of Sufi identity, his relationship with politics and literary identity. While benefiting from what was written before, under the title of Poetry, the issues that were not mentioned before were also mentioned through the samples selected from his poems. However, what will make this study unique is the attempt to determine the "intermediate/bridge generation" feature of Ahmet Remzi Dede.
