Özet:

Nowadays, just as advances in communication technologies has affected many areas, it has also significantly affected the journalism. Particularly in the context of journalism practices, news production process has experienced a great transformation thanks to social media, internet journalism and citizen reporting channels. Thus, in this study it is aimed to reveal the structural features and problems of Isparta local press. For this purpose, newspapers published in Isparta were examined in the context of their general situation, problems and news production process. At the end of this study, where participatory observation and in-depth interview methods were applied, it is assured that newspapers are operating as a capitalist industry in terms of political economy approach, benefiting mainly from social media, internet journalism and citizen reporting channels in news production, and therefore employing fewer employees resulting with the increase in profitability.
