The importance of civil society organizations in the modern world is increasing everyday. With the process of globalization, individuals are more likely to live inside each day. From a cultural point of view, people have begun to get closer to each other. This situation has prepared the ground for the formation of a collective social structure that has evolved into more organized and organized in the spheres of social life. This fact has become increasingly dominant in the fields of social life. In today’s world, the civil society phenomenon has passed through different processes and has become an outstanding element of the participating democratic process. The Western world, along with the Industrial Revolution, has begun to form increasingly important civil society organizations and social-religious and cultural organizations in the process of transition to industrial society. These organized structures are planned to perform the social functions expected to be fulfilled during the democratization process. Such social-religious and cultural structures, formed in different forms in the Western societies, have been able to develop dialogue with the state, society and other civil society organizations (based on the civil society thought). In our country, the reality of civil society has begun to become a social reality that feels its weight and effectiveness more and more day by day, with the impulse of the dialogue conducted in the process of participation of the European Union. In the face of all these facts, it is known that civil society organizations have a number of influences on religious and social life, and that their functions aimed at performing are also important from a socio-cultural point of view. This study, accompanied by the concepts of civil society, religion and culture, pointed out what the organization of civil society and the role in social-religious and cultural life.

The importance of non-governmental organizations in the modern world is increasing day by day. With the globalization process, individuals have to live more and more together day by day. Culturally, people started to get closer to each other. This situation paved the way for the formation of a collective social structure that evolved into more organized and organized social life areas. This fact has gradually started to dominate in social life areas. In today's world, the phenomenon of civil society has become an elite element of the participatory democratic process by going through different processes. With the Industrial Revolution, the Western world started to create non-governmental organizations and socio-religious and cultural organizations that became increasingly important in the transition to industrial society. These organized structures are planned to perform the social functions expected to be fulfilled in the democratization process. 

Such socio-religious and cultural structures formed in different formats in Western societies; they were able to develop positive dialogues (on the basis of the idea of civil society) with the state, society and other non-governmental organizations. The reality of civil society in our country has become a social reality that makes its weight and effectiveness feel more and more day by day. The most important reason for this is the effective role of the dialogues in the European Union accession process. In the face of all these realities, it is known that non-governmental organizations have a number of effects in religious and social life, and that their functions that are intended to be fulfilled in socio-cultural terms are important. In this study, the nature of the non-governmental organization and its role in socio-religious and cultural life are mentioned, accompanied by the concepts of civil society, religion and culture.
