Determining the extent of the interaction between democracy and economic growth is an important issue for the countries in the process of democratization. As democracy has an effective role in accelerating growth and development, economic development and development have a special importance in accelerating the democratization process. It has been observed that democratic regimes are more successful than autocratic regimes in preventing political instability, managing all kinds of conflicts in the society and preventing social destruction in the country. In addition, democracies increase the human capital stock in the country and accelerate economic growth by providing a more equitable income distribution. From this point of view, in this article, theoretical research has been done on these two variables in order to contribute to the clarification of the relationship between democracy and economic development. In this article, first conceptual definitions are made and then the studies in the literature are mentioned; three basic approaches in the literature on democracy and economic growth are mentioned. Then, the effect of economic growth on democracy was discussed, and then the channels where democracy affects growth were mentioned.
