Gelişmiş ülkelerde aileye yüklenen önem ve anlam değişmekte, boşanmış anne ya da babası ile yaşayan tek ebeveynli çocuklar, evlilik dışı doğmuş çocuklar, hiçbir ebeveyni tarafından kabullenilmeyen çocuklar gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Bu toplumlarda devletin sosyal olma yönü genellikle fazladır ve aile kurumu dışında büyüyen çocukların bakımı ve büyütülmesiyle ilgili birçok sorumluluk devlet tarafından yerine getirilmektedir. Bu koruyucu mekanizmaya rağmen sağlıklı bir toplum için aile kurumunun gerekliliği de aşikârdır. Sosyal devlet mekanizması olmayan veya iyi işlemeyen ülkelerde aile kurumunun önemi daha da fazladır. Çünkü bu toplumlarda aile, sosyal koruyuculuk görevi görmekte, toplumun birincil sosyal güvenlik çatısı olmaktadır. Türkiye’de de aile kurumu günden güne parçalanmakta, evlenen insan sayısı azalmakta, boşanmalar ve aile kurmaksızın yaşayan insan sayısı artmaktadır. Çoğunlukla örf ve adetler ya da mevcut düzenin dayattığı göstermelik tüketim alışkanlıkları tarafından belirlenen lüks evlilik ve ev kurma masrafları, bu masraflardan doğan tartışmalar, masrafların bir tarafa fazlaca yüklenmesi ya evlilikten kaçınmaya ya da yeni kurulmuş olan yuvaların sona ermesine yol açabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada evlilik masraflarının bireyleri nasıl etkilediği, sosyal politika açısından devletin ve sosyal nitelikli kurumların temel ve gerekli düğün ve evlilik masraflarına destek olmasının gerekip gerekmediği tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu tespit için nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden olan anket kullanılmıştır. Konuyla ilgili algıları ölçen ölçeği de içeren anket, sahada uygulanmış ve elde edilen veriler analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçta düğün ve evlilik masraflarının yeni bir aile kurma yolunda önemli bir maddi engel olduğu, tüketim alışkanlıklarından dolayı gereksiz harcamaların yapıldığı, düğün ve evlilik masraflarının ağırlığının genellikle erkek tarafında olduğu, devlet ve sosyal kuruluşların temel ve gerekli düğün ve evlilik masraflarına yapacağı yardımlarla bu engelin hafifletilebileceği tespit edilmiştir
In developed countries, the importance and meaning of the family is changing, single-parent children living with a divorced mother or father and unmarried children are increasing on a daily basis. In these societies, the direction of sociality of the state is often excessive, and many responsibilities regarding the care and raising of children growing out of the family institution are fulfilled by the state. Despite this protective mechanism, the need for a family institution for a healthy society is also clear. In countries that do not have a social state mechanism or do not work well, the importance of the family institution is even greater. Because in these societies, the family sees the role of social protection, it is the primary social security roof of society. In Turkey, the family institution is dividing from day to day, the number of married people is decreasing, the number of people living without divorce and family establishment is increasing. The cost of luxury marriage and housing, which is often determined by the customary consumption habits imposed by the existing order, the disputes arising from these costs, the excessive charge of the costs on the one hand can either lead to the avoidance of marriage or the end of the newly established houses. In this study, a scale was developed with the help of literature to measure how marriage expenses affect individuals, the state and social qualifying institutions support the basic and necessary marriage and marriage expenses and whether they will contribute to the solution of problems. The survey containing this scale, the data applied and obtained in the field has been analyzed. After all, it has been found that marriage and marriage expenses are a significant material obstacle in the way to establish a new family, the weight of these expenses is often on the male side, and that this obstacle can be relieved with the aid that the government and social organizations will make to the basic and necessary marriage and marriage expenses.
