The purpose of the study is revealing the general tendecies related to the field of argumentation in Turkey. Hence, open access argumentation researches which have been realized between the years of 2007 and 2012 were examined with respect to the study group, the method, the data gathering tools, the data analysis and the field of study. Since certain documents were aimed to examine with a systematic method, document analysis was used as the research method. The researches in the content of this study are the open access dissertations in YOK National Dissertation Center and open access articles derived from ULAKBIM database. Because the examinations of the considered studies are based on the count of content, a quantitative analysis tecnique which is based on positivist paradigm were used. Therefore, the percentage-frequency matrices were presented for findings of each identified category. Examining the findings, it is seen that the studies which show a distribution mostly in the years of 2009, 2010 and 2011 are mainly carried out in quantitative context with respect to the method, the data gathering tools and the data analysis. It might be said that this field has lost its popularity very early without completely understanding the argumentation concept and its applications, when the distribution matrices of all of the categories are evaluated.
