Abstract:

The Caucasus, which has a geopolitical importance throughout history, is also considered as the conflict area of regional forces. The area also contains important trade routes. Especially with the fact that the Armenians became a source of instability in the region by taking Russia’s support, the problems have increased. After the occupation by the Armenians of the Karabakh and Zengezur Corridor, the historic Azerbaijani land, the connection between Turkey and the Turkish world was also cut off. and II. After the Karabakh War, a new period began with the acceptance of the defeat by the Armenians and the rescue of a significant part of the occupied territory. The establishment of the direct connection between Turkey and the Turkish world from the Zengezur Corridor is very important for both Turkey and the Turkish world. In this study, the importance of South Caucasus and especially the Mountains of Karabakh and Zengezur region was sought to be revealed in a historic process. The study, which took advantage of the historical method of the quality research, concluded that the liberation of the Armenian occupation of the Mountains of Karabakh and the construction of the Zengezur Corridor provided strategically significant advantages for the Turkish world.
