Yaşam boyu öğrenme nitelikli toplumların oluşmasında önemli bir etkendir. Bu anlamda yetişkin eğitimi, zorunlu eğitimin yanı sıra bireylere ihtiyaç duydukları öğrenmeyi sağlamakta ve onları kendilerini geliştirmeye teşvik etmektedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı halk eğitim merkezlerinde görev yapan yönetici ve öğretmenlerin yetişkin eğitimine yönelik görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın desenini nitel araştırma desenlerinden biri olan durum çalışması oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunda halk eğitim merkezlerinde görev yapan 60 yönetici ve 92 öğretmen yer almaktadır. Çalışma grubunda yer alan yönetici ve öğretmenlere Trabzon, Erzurum, İstanbul ve Denizli illerinde gerçekleştirilen hizmet içi eğitimler sırasında ulaşılmış ve gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak araştırmaya katılımları sağlanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan açık uçlu soruların yer aldığı anket form kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ise nitel araştırmalarda kullanılan betimsel analiz tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgular “Yetişkin Eğitimine İlişkin Genel Düşünceler”, “Yetişkin Eğitiminde Yaşanan Sorunlar”, Yetişkin Eğitimine İlişkin Beklentiler” ve “Yetişkin Eğitimine Yönelik Öneriler” olmak üzere dört ana tema altında incelenmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda yönetici ve öğretmenlerin yetişkin eğitimini önemli buldukları ancak yetişkin eğitimi sürecinde farklı sebeplere bağlı olarak sorunlar yaşadıkları tespit edilmiştir. Yönetici ve öğretmenler ayrıca kursiyerlerin yetişkin eğitimi kurslarından bazı beklentilerinin olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Araştırmada yetişkin eğitimi sürecinin kalitesinin arttırılmasına yönelik eğitim ortamlarına, eğitimcilere ve kursiyerlere yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Lifelong learning is an important factor in the formation of qualified societies. In this sense, adult education, in addition to compulsory education, ensures individuals to learn what they need and encourages them to develop themselves. The aim of this research is to identify the views of managers and teachers working in public educational centers on adult education. The model of the research is one of the quality research patterns. The study group includes 60 managers and 92 teachers working in public educational centers. Managers and teachers involved in the work group have been achieved during the service training in the Trabzon, Erzurum, Istanbul and Denizli provinces and have been provided participation in the research based on the essence of volunteering. The survey form contained open end questions prepared by researchers as a data collection tool was used. In the analysis of data, the image analysis technique used in quality research has been used. The findings obtained in the study were studied under four main topics: "General thoughts on adult education", "Problems in adult education", Expectations on adult education" and "Recommendations for adult education". According to the data obtained from the study, managers and teachers found adult education important but they experienced problems due to different reasons in the adult education process. Managers and teachers also expressed that the courses have some expectations from adult education courses. The research has given recommendations for educational environments, educators and courses to improve the quality of the adult education process.

The design of the study is case study which is one of the qualitative research designs. The study group includes 60 managers and 92 teachers working in public education centers. The managers and teachers in the study group were reached during the in-service trainings in Trabzon, Erzurum, İstanbul and Denizli and they participated in the study based on volunteerism. As a data collection tool, a questionnaire containing open-ended questions prepared by researchers was used. In the analysis of the data, descriptive analysis technique used in qualitative researches was utilized. The findings obtained through the study were examined under four themes: "General Thoughts about Adult Education", "Problems Experienced in Adult Education", "Expectations related to Adult Education" and "Recommendations for Adult Education". According to the data obtained from the study, it was determined that managers and teachers found adult education important, but they experienced problems due to different reasons during the adult education process. Managers and teachers also stated that trainees have some expectations from adult education courses. In the study, suggestions were made to improve the quality of adult education process in term of the educational environments, educators and trainees.
