Özet:

The aim of this study is to determine the relationships between undergrudate music teacher’s general self-esteem level and attitudes towards instrumental practise and their personal characterists as gender, age, high School which they graduated and universty that they take music education. The sample of this study is consisted of 424 (n=424) undergraduate music teacher who are in Adnan Menderes University, Dokuz Eylül University, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University, Çanakkale 18 Mart University and Pamukkale University. Data has been collected bu using Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (Çuhadaroğlu, 1986) and The Attitude Scale Towards İnstrumental Practise (Özmenteş,2007). İt has been observed that Undergraduate music teachers have high level self-esteem and middle level attitude towards instrumental practise and there is positive but low level relationship between their self-esteem and attitudes towards instrumental practise, there is no significant relationships between their self-esteem and attitudes towards instrumental practise and their age, gender and their hıgh School type that they graduated. After all, a significant relationship between their self-esteem and attitudes towards instrumental practise and their grade levels. No significant relationships was found between undergratuated music teacher’s general self esteem and their musical insturments whether they volutarily choose, but significant relationships was found between their attitudes towards instrumental practise and their musical instruments who didin’t choose them voluntarily.
