INTRODUCTION: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between perception about psychiatric nursing education of nursing students who completed internship in psychiatric nursing practice and its effect on communication satisfaction. METHODS: This study is a correlational research. Data were collected from fourth grade nursing students who completed internship in psychiatry nursing practice. Descriptive statistics and path analysis were used for data analysis. RESULTS: 86.1% of the students are female and 46.8% live with their families. It can be said that the students' scores of assessment of psychiatric nursing education and communication satisfaction is moderate. Students who want to become psychiatric nurses have high scores in both psychiatric nursing education evaluation and communication satisfaction. (p lt;0.05). Communication satisfaction scores with the evaluation form scores of the psychiatric nursing training has shown a positive correlation (p lt;0.05). It is seen that the model is compatible with the data ( #967;2 / df = 0.039, p = 0.754). It was determined that significance / valency, competence / trust and equality subscales affect communication satisfaction through the total evaluation of psychiatric nursing education. (p lt;0.05). DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: Consequently, it is important that the trainers to carry out activities to increase the communication satisfaction of the students. Training given should be reviewed for both psychiatric nursing education and communication satisfaction by receiving feedback from the students.
