Thanks to this characteristic, human beings can not only explain an ordinary feeling in an ordinary way, but can also give the message in a more effective way and can have the power to affect the masses with only a single sentence just like proverbs which are succinct and very meaningful. The aim of this study is to determine whether there is an association, in terms of meaning and content, between the Turkish proverbs and the verses of the Quran, the holy book of Islam, starting with “O you who have believed”, to determine whether these proverbs include orders, prohibitions, and advice in the relevant verses of the Quran, and also to find out the Arabian parables which are similar in meaning to these Turkish proverbs. At the first stage of the study, the number of the verses of the Quran starting with “O you who have believed”, and in which surahs these verses are, have been determined And then, it has been searched whether there is a proverb related to the most apparent parts of these verses, by examining a few tafsirs written in the last two centuries and other related sources and academic studies. As a result of the research, the Turkish proverbs which can be associated with the general content and the prominent messages of the verses, and which are considered to overlap in meaning and the Arabian parables which are used in similar meanings to these proverbs have been given together.
