Bu araştırmada Türkiye’de özel eğitimde teknoloji kullanımı konusunda yapılmış lisansüstü tezlerin incelenerek lisansüstü düzeydeki araştırmaların eğilimlerinin ortaya konulması amaçlanmıştır. Özel eğitimde teknoloji kullanımı ile ilişkili tezlerdeki eğilimlerin belirlenmesi, ileride yapılacak yeni araştırmalar için öneriler getirmesi açısından önemlidir. Araştırmanın verileri Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu Ulusal Tez Merkezi veri tabanından erişilen 28 adet lisansüstü tezden elde edilmiştir. Bu tezlerin incelenmesinde doküman incelemesi tekniğinden yararlanılmıştır. Erişilen tezler yayın yılı, tez türü, üniversite türü, yayınlanan üniversite, özel eğitim kategorisi, yöntem, veri toplama araçları, yararlanılan teknoloji, araştırmacı çalışma alanı ve öğrenme çıktıları ölçütlerine göre incelenmiştir. Özel eğitimde teknoloji kullanımı ile ilgili en çok tez çalışması 2019 yılında yayınlanmış olup yüksek lisans düzeyi ağırlıklıdır. İncelenen tezlerin büyük çoğunluğu devlet üniversitelerinde yapılmıştır. Ele alınan özel eğitim kategorisi açısından değerlendirildiğinde tez çalışmalarının büyük çoğunluğu zihinsel yetersizlik odaklı olup özel gereksinimli bireylere akademik beceri kazandırılması hedeflenmektedir. Araştırma sürecinde tek denekli deneysel desenler öne çıkarken en çok kullanılan veri toplama araçları ise gözlem ve görüşme olmuştur. Özel eğitimde teknoloji kullanımı kaçınılmaz olup zamandan ve mekândan bağımsız, bireysel öğrenme sürecini destekleyen mobil uygulamaların kullanım yoğunluğu dikkat çekmektedir. Söz konusu araştırma bulgularının araştırmacılara ışık tutması, teknolojinin bu alandaki gücüne ilişkin farkındalık geliştirmesi ve alanyazına katkı sürecinde yararlı olacağı düşünülmektedir.
In this study, the aim of the study of the postgraduate theses on the use of technology in special education in Turkey is to reveal the trends of research at the postgraduate level. Determining the trends in the theses related to the use of technology in special training is important in terms of bringing recommendations for new research to be carried out in the future. The research data were obtained from 28 sub-graduate theses accessed from the Higher Education Institute's National Thesis Center database. In the study of these theses, the document examination technique was used. The obtained theses are studied according to the criteria of the year of publication, the type of thesis, the type of university, the university published, the category of special education, the method, the data collection tools, the technology used, the researchers' field of work and the learning outcomes. The most thesis on the use of technology in special education was published in 2019 and the master's level focuses on it. The majority of the examined theses were made at state universities. When assessed in terms of the category of special education taken, the vast majority of the thesis studies are mental disability-focused and aimed at providing academic skills to individuals with special needs. In the research process, the most commonly used data collection tools were observation and conversation. The use of technology in special training is inevitable and the intensity of the use of mobile applications that support the individual learning process, independent of time and place, is highlighted. It is believed that the research findings will be useful for researchers in the process of developing awareness of the power of technology in this field and contributing to the field.
This research has been made about the use of technology in examining the special education graduate thesis research in Turkey was aimed to determine the trend. Determining the trends in the theses related to the use of technology in special education is important in terms of providing suggestions for future research. The research data were obtained from 28 postgraduate theses accessed from the database of the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education. Document analysis technique was used to examine these theses. The accessed theses were analyzed according to the publication year, thesis type, university type, published university, special education category, learning outcomes, method, data collection tools, technology used, and researcher field of study. The most thesis on the use of technology in special education was published in 2019, and it is mostly master level. Most of the examined theses were made in state universities. When evaluated in terms of the special education category under consideration, most of the theses are focused on mental disability and it is aimed to gain academic skills to individuals with special needs. While single-subject experimental designs came to the fore in the research process, the most used data collection tools were observation and interview. The use of technology in special education is inevitable, and the intensity of use of mobile applications that support the individual learning process, independent of time and space, draws attention. It is thought that the research findings in question will be useful in the process of shedding light on researchers, raising awareness of the power of technology in this field and contributing to the literature.
