Abstract:

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between the level of identification of football fans with the team, life satisfaction and free time satisfaction within the framework of some variables. In this study, which is quantitative research type, relational scanning model was used from General scanning models. The research group was composed of 296 football fans, including 206 men and 90 women based in Kayseri province. The group formation was carried out by an easily accessible state sampling method from non-selective sampling methods. Survey was used as a data collection tool in the research. The questionnaire forms were delivered by the researcher to the individuals by face-to-face interview method. In addition to the ‘Personal Information Form' for demographic characteristics of individuals, the measurement tool includes “Sport Fan Identification Scale” to measure the level of supporter identification of individuals, “Life Satisfaction Scale” to measure the level of life satisfaction of individuals, and “Leisure Time Satisfaction Scale” to measure the level of free time satisfaction of individuals. Descriptive and inferential statistics were made using the SPSS program for the data obtained in the study. According to the results of the analysis of the data obtained; the variables of membership in the fan group, education level, gender, going to away matches, frequency of watching the matches on the spot affect the level of identification of the fans. Positive correlations were found between the level of identification with teams of fans, the level of leisure time satisfaction, and life satisfaction. However, it was also determined that the level of supporter identification and leisure time satisfaction had a significant predictor effect on cohabitation satisfaction. These results show that the sense of adoration and the amount of satisfaction experienced in leisure times interact with the concept of life satisfaction, which concerns the entire life of the individual
