The industrialization process, which started in the 18th century in the world, began to affect the Ottoman Empire over time. In order to fulfil the needs of industrialization in the world, the necessity of establishing industrial facilities and the demand for technical staff were observed. The Ottoman Empire took essential steps in this field by establishing schools for industrialization, and these schools aimed to meet the need for intermediate staff. Trade guilds and ahi communities provided the basis of vocational-technical education in the Ottoman Empire. Education was divided into stages, and education was provided by teaching art in the workplace. This study examines how the Ottoman Empire adapted to the industrialization movement that started in the world, the measures it undertook, and the role of industrial schools in industrialization based on the example of the Dersaadet Industrial School. Based on the Dersaadet Industrial School, this study evaluated the curricula, the training, and what the students were taught to prepare for real-life situations.
