İkinci Dünya Savaşı’nın sonunda, Avrupa’da ilerlemek isteyen Rusya’nın Türkiye’den bazı taleplerde bulunması, devlet yöneticilerinin hemen harekete geçmesine neden olmuştur. Çok partili sistemle yönetilen Batı devletleri ile işbirliği içine girmek isteyen Türk yöneticiler, kendilerini revize etme yoluna giderek ülke içinde çok partili hayata geçişin sinyallerini vermişlerdir. Dönemin tek partisi olan Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi içinde yaşanan anlaşmazlıklar da bu dönemde ortaya çıkmış, Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi’nden ayrılanlar Demokrat Parti’yi kurarak siyaset sahnesinde yerlerini almışlardır. Savaş sonunda ülke ekonomisinin bozulmasına ek olarak iktidar partisi içinde yaşanan anlaşmazlıkların artması, halkın tercihleri noktasında bir dönüm noktasını oluşturmuştur. Halkın tercihlerinin değiştiği yerleşim yerlerinden birisi de Kırklareli olmuştur. 1946 yılında yapılan genel seçimleri, Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi büyük farkla kazanmıştır. Fakat ilerleyen günlerde taşra teşkilatı içinde yaşanan huzursuzluklar ve diğer partilerin faaliyetleri, bu durumun tersine dönmesine neden olmuştur. Halkın büyük bölümü Demokrat Parti’yi kurtarıcı olarak görmeye başlamışlardır. Bu şartlar altında 1950 yılında yapılan milletvekili seçimleri büyük sürprizle sonuçlanmıştır. Seçim sonunda CHP’nin hiçbir adayı Kırklareli’de milletvekili seçilememiştir. DP’nin adaylarının hepsi ise milletvekili seçilmişlerdir. Kırklareli özelinde yaşanan bu durum hemen hemen Türkiye’nin bütün yerlerinde aynı şekilde cereyan etmiştir. Çalışmamızda Kırklareli’de 1946 ile 1950 yılları arasında yapılan genel seçimlerde siyasi partilerin mücadeleleri ve CHP Kırklareli taşra teşkilatındaki siyasi durum incelenmiştir. Araştırma yapılırken Başbakanlık Devlet Arşivi’nde bulunan belgeler, dönem gazeteleri ve basılı diğer kaynaklardan yararlanılmıştır.
At the end of the Second World War, Russia’s demand to move forward in Europe has led to the government leaders to take action immediately. The Turkish rulers who want to cooperate with the Western states governed by the multi-party system have given signs of transition to the multi-party life within the country on their way of revision. The only party of the period, the Republican People's Party, has also emerged in this period, and those who have left the Republican People's Party have taken their places on the political stage by establishing the Democratic Party. In addition to the disruption of the country’s economy at the end of the war, the increase in disputes within the power party has made a turning point in the people’s preferences. One of the places where the people’s preferences changed was the Crusaders. The general elections held in 1946 the Republican People's Party won a big difference. But in the past days, the discomforts and the activities of the other parties have led to the reversal situation. The majority of the people have begun to see the Democratic Party as a rescue. At the end of World War II, some of the demands Russia presented to Turkey in efforts to advance in Europe caused state administrators to take immediate action. Turkish administrators who wanted to cooperate with the Western states that are run under the multi-party system gave the signals of transition to multi-party life in the country by revising themselves. The disputes within the Republican People's Party (CHP), the sole party in the period, also emerged during this period, and those who left the CHP took their place in the political scene by establishing the Democrat Party (DP). In addition to the deterioration of the country's economy at the end of the war, increasing disputes within the ruling party constituted a turning point in the preferences of the people. One of the settlements where the preferences of the people changed was Kırklareli. The Republican People's Party won the general elections in 1946 with a great margin. However, the unrest and the activities of other parties in the provincial organization in the following days caused this situation to reverse. Most of the people started to see the Democrat Party as a savior. Under these circumstances, the parliamentary elections in 1950 resulted in a big surprise. At the end of the election, no candidate of the CHP could be elected as a deputy in Kırklareli. All DP candidates, on the other hand, were elected deputies. This situation that was specific to Kırklareli, took place throughout Turkey in almost the same manner. In our study, the struggles of political parties in the general elections held in Kırklareli between 1946 and 1950 and the political situation in the CHP Kırklareli provincial organization were examined. The documents in the Prime Ministry State Archive, newspapers from the period and other printed sources were utilized in this the process of this study.
