Turkey-Russia energy relations improved in connection with Turkey’s increasing energy need in the twenty first century. With its rich energy resources, Russia was an important supplier country in terms of Turkey. With its increasing energy needs, Turkey has been an important income supply for Russia’s economy. Energy trade which started in oil and coal field moved to the natural gas field over time and lastly, two countries have agreed to build Turkey’s first nuclear power plant. In this study, Russia-Turkey energy relations generally are evaluated in the scope of interdependece. Though energy relations were affected certain extent by the political crisis between two countries, it usually developed on the basis of interdependence. In this context, the two countries’ energy politics and energy profiles are examined after interdependence approach is explained. Later, the developing of Russia-Turkey energy relations which constitude the main axis of the study will be handled. In general evaluation at the end of study, it is concluded that there is interdependence between Russia and Turkey but this interdependece carries transformation risk of unbalance dependence in favor of Russia in terms of Turkey.
