Özet:

The aim of this research is to determine perceptions of sports sciences faculty students regarding the concept of exam through metaphors. The study group of the research consisted of 38 sports sciences faculty students. In order to collect data, a metaphor form was prepared to determine the perceptions of the participants regarding the concept of the exam. In the research, the phenomenological model, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. Content analysis technique was used in the analysis of the data. For the reliability of the analysis of the research data, the coefficient of reliability intercoder was calculated as 88%. It was observed that the students of the sports sciences faculty produced a total of 33 metaphors. Produced metaphors were gathered in 3 categories. These categories are anxiety (16 metaphor), obstacle (9 metaphor) and race (8 metaphor). The metaphors produced most by the participants were determined as stress, marathon and trouble respectively. For the concept of the exam, the analogies made to animals (snake, spider, vulture, vampire) known as scary in nature drawn attention.
