Abstract:

The findings of the study show that coaches are the people who most influence the development of children and young individuals in the sports environment. The aim of the study is to compare the coach behavior that athletes who participate in the Athletics Turkey Championship perceive according to the athletes' gender, start-up age, athletic experience, coach's gender and coach's stage variables. The study included 85 women and 125 male athletes between the ages of 11-39 (x=18.71; Ss=6.03) and 10-43 (x=19.45; Ss=5.17). The data was obtained by the researchers with the demographic form of information created to determine the characteristics of athletes and their coaches and the scale of assessment of coach behavior for athletes made by the Turkish Adaptation Maker and Ince (2014) (SADDÖ). The data is studied by identificative statistics, independent sampling t test and one-way variance analysis. The findings showed that the positive coach behavior of SADDÖ shows that women athletes in the lower dimension have a higher score than men and that male athletes have a higher score than women athletes in the lower dimension. Athletes who start sports between the ages of 11 and 14 have a higher score in the lower dimension of their competition strategy compared to those who start sports before the age of 10 and after the age of 15. As a result, the trainer’s behavior has been determined that both the athlete’s gender and the start of the sport age differ in certain dimensions for athlete’s athlete.
