Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, ülkemizde göçmen çocukların eğitim sorunlarını ortaya koymak ve çözüm önerileri sunmaktır. Nitel araştırma yöntemi ve durum çalışması deseniyle 2016-2017 öğretim yılında gerçekleştirilen araştırmaya devlet okulları ve Geçici Eğitim Merkezleri’nde (GEM) görevli 12 yönetici, 71 öğretmen olmak üzere toplam 83 katılımcı destek vermiştir. Bu çalışmada okul ve sınıflardaki göçmen öğrencilerin, mevcut durumu (sınıflara dağılımı, kaynaklık eden ülkelere göre dağılım, psikolojik destek alma, ekonomik destek alma, başarı artırıcı ek destek alma, diğer öğrencilerle ilişkiler), öğretmen ve yöneticilerin yaşadıkları sorunlar ve çözüm önerileri araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada yönetici ve öğretmenlere, sınıflarında ve okullarındaki göçmen öğrencilerin eğitim sorunları sorulmuştur. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre, yönetici ve öğretmenlerin sınıflarındaki göçmen öğrencilerin % 92’si Suriyeli, %8’i Afganistanlı ve Iraklı öğrencilerden oluşmaktadır. Bu öğrencilerin %83’ü diğer öğrencilerle birlikte, % 12’si ayrı sınıflarda eğitim görmektedir. Katılımcıların % 72’si göçmen çocukların arkadaşları ile ilişkilerini olumsuz olarak değerlendirmiştir. Yönetici ve öğretmenlerin %94’ü göçmen çocukların eğitim sorunlarına çözüm olarak velilere ve çocuklara dil desteği verilmesini, % 86’sı uygun ders araç gereçleri, % 69’u öğretmenlere hizmet içi eğitim verilmesini önermiştir. Göç ve eğitim konusunun sadece göç edenlere değil göç edilen ülke insanlarına yarar sağlayacağı bakış açısı ile ele alınması ve buna uygun gerçekçi çözümler üretilmesi gerekmektedir.
The main objective of this research is to identify the educational problems of immigrant children in our country and to offer solutions. The research carried out in the 2016-2017 academic year with the quality research method and the situation study pattern has been supported by a total of 83 participants, including 12 managers, 71 teachers, who are responsible for public schools and temporary education centers (GEM). This study examined the current situation of immigrant students in schools and classes (distribution to classes, distribution according to the country of origin, receiving psychological support, receiving economic support, receiving success enhancing additional support, relations with other students), the problems that teachers and managers experience and the solutions proposals. The study asked managers and teachers about the educational problems of immigrant students in their classes and schools. According to the findings obtained in the study, 92% of migrant students in the classes of managers and teachers are Syrian, and 8% are Afghan and Iraqi students. 83% of these students, along with other students, are taught in separate classes, while 12% are taught in separate classes. 72% of participants have been negative to their relationships with friends of immigrant children. 94% of managers and teachers proposed to provide language support to parents and children as a solution to the educational problems of immigrant children; 86% of teachers proposed to provide appropriate class equipment and 69% of teachers proposed to provide in-service education. The issue of immigration and education must be addressed with a view that it will benefit not only the immigrants, but the people of the immigrant country, and realist solutions must be produced.
