Özet:

The modern sports practiced all over the world started with the Tanzimat Period, which can be called "Turkish Modernization" in the Ottoman Empire, and the first stage of political, cultural and legal liberation diversified with the Constitutional Era and benefited from the freedom environment brought by the new era. With the Law of Associations of 1909, the official organizations that started in Ottoman lands with its influence in Western states and among its subjects were started again through gymnastics societies and the process was shaped on the axis of ethnic nationalism. Efforts were made to develop national consciousness in the Ottoman community, to create social solidarity, to create a common culture, to support the community culture by using gymnastics with the "micro-nationalism" convention. The study is to determine the change in the perception of sports in the modernization process and its effect on the Ottoman society through gymnastics.
