The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between young adults' preferred emotion styles and family belonging. The descriptive study was conducted in 2017 with 1748 undergraduate students who volunteered to participate in the study in different universities in Konya. Data were obtained by using Participant Information Form, Emotion Styles Scale and Family Belonging Scale. Data were analyzed with SPSS.21 statistical program and Independent Groups T Test, Anova Test and Pearson Correlation Analysis Method were used in the analysis process. 55.3% of the participants were female, mean age was 20.74, average number of siblings was 3.35 and average monthly income was 735. 64.6% of the participants live in provinces or metropolitan cities, 47% of their mothers and 34% of their fathers have primary education. As a result of the study, it was seen that women's family belonging was significantly higher than men. The presence of domestic violence experience negatively affects self and family belonging. There is a significant relationship between parents' educational level and attitudes towards young adults and family belonging. It was found that the situation in the family was important in terms of expressing the feelings of the family members and this was related to the family belonging of the individual. It is thought that individual's family belonging can be increased by strengthening the family communication by parents and supporting children in expressing their feelings.
