Abstract:

The study aimed at determining the economic value of the ancient city of Bergama, one of the important centers of cultural heritage tourism. The determination of economic value helps to make cultural heritage spaces more consciously used and managed in a sustainable way, thus ensuring that they are transferred to future generations. In the study, the Individual Travel Cost Method has been applied widely used in determining economic value. To obtain the data to be used in the Individual Travel Cost Method, the face-to-face survey technique was applied to 400 people who visited the Ancient City of Bergama in August 2019. In the study, the analysis was carried out by setting up a multi-linear regression model to measure the travel cost value of the ancient city of Bergama. The multi-linear regression model analysis calculated the annual individual consumer rate and total consumer rate for the Old Town of Bergama. According to the findings, Bergama Ancient City’s annual individual consumer rent was 26.309 TL, while the total consumer rent was 10.349.329.184 TL/year. The total value of the Consumer Rant corresponds to the value of an annual cultural tourism use of the Old Town of Bergama.
