Alexie is a representative of the literary traditions of the Native-Americans. His fiction reflects the power imbalance and fluctuating power structures of the society because of the hegemony of the whites over the natives. Post-Marxism as literary theory is the theoretical/ conceptual framework of this research as well as its methodology. The objective of this research is to show that power structures in the America are conflicting and transitory. The research is significant because it reflects the impact of the white hegemony on the American population comprising the oppressive whites and the oppressed natives. The research concludes on the assumption that Alexie’s fiction reflects the blurring of the boundaries of power between the whites and the natives as the white hegemony is resisted by the Native-Americans.
