In this study, it is aimed to determine the views of social studies teachers about the emergency remote teaching process applied in the 2020 pandemic period. The research was carried out within the scope of the phenomenology pattern, which is one of the qualitative research methods. 15 social studies teachers took part in the research as participants. The data gathered in the research were collected through semi-structured interview form and written form. The collected data were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. According to the results of the research, it was explained that social studies teachers evaluated the emergency remote teaching process as "positive" and "efficient". Although social studies teachers stated the limitations of distance education, they summarized the reasons for evaluating emergency remote teaching as "continuing the education process", "due to the conditions of the period", "lecturing the lessons" and "removal of time and place barriers". Social studies teachers said that they used slides in lessons, did digital activities and used EBA materials. In addition, in this process, social studies teachers stated that they benefited from presentation, narration and question-answer techniques. In addition, it was determined that the teachers actively used digital materials, EBA and social media in this process.
