Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to examine the situations of teachers working with their colleagues, the obstacles to their work and the solutions for the development of cooperation according to the teachers’ opinions. According to the quality research methods, the study’s participating group consists of 25 teachers. In the collection of research data, the semi-configured interview form developed by the researcher was used. In the process of data collection, face-to-face conversations were conducted with the participants, the analysis of the data obtained was done according to the content analysis method. The findings from the research found that the majority of teachers have a lot of need to work with their colleagues. More than half of the teachers said that the level of cooperation was insufficient. Teachers pointed out the barriers arising from teachers in their collaboration with their colleagues, the negative personality characteristics (ego, ambition, uncertainty, pride, selfishness), lack of communication, professional competition, grouping, political discrepancies, and the concern that the desire for cooperation is perceived as insufficient. The non-professional factors facing teachers to cooperate with their colleagues are defined as change in the culture of society, conflict of generations, the individuality of legal regulations and the difficulty of working conditions.
