Abstract:

Visual arts education is one of the disciplinary areas that is increasing in importance with progressive and constructivist educational philosophies and should be focused on. Since visual arts education is not only based on theoretical information in the process, but is more of a disciplinary field in which the creative process is active, it should be focused on tutorials. With visual arts education, an individual creates spaces that will provide him/her emotional and spiritual comfort by moving away from the mental and physical fatigue created by other disciplines. These areas should be environments where the individual can move and think freely. Because as long as the individual configures the living space himself, he can achieve meaningful results. Learning in the process should take place subjectively, the instructor should not convey objective information directly. Even if visual arts education has a theoretical background, the subjective realization of the process allows creativity to develop and the individual to question objective information. At this stage, creativity comes into play and makes the process meaningful. Therefore, the importance of creativity in the teaching of visual arts education cannot be denied in order for the holistic development of the individual to continue and not to be disrupted. In this sense, in the process that takes place within the scope of visual arts education; the course that is being taught, the activities that are taking place develop the creativity of the student. For this purpose, the research also questioned the impact of creativity in visual arts education and its importance for students was mentioned.
