Translations of the Qur’an, are very important works in terms of showing the expressive power and vocabulary of Turkish. Svetozar Markovic Library's Rso-49 Qur’an Translation numbered 001035188, written by the clerk Isma’îl in the 19th century, is one of the underline Qur’an translations that brought the vocabulary of the Turkish language to the present day. No work has been found so far on the study, consisting of 309 leaves and has only one copy. Like the translations of the Qur’an, idioms are valuable elements that contain the genetic codes of our language. Idioms, known as stereotypes, gain a different meaning as a result of the experiences people have over time. In this process, which is called the phenomenon of idiomization, the meaning of the idiom is realized through a transfer. These meaning transfer tools, which are realized as metaphor (idiomatic transfer), metonymy (name transfer), simile and allusion, show the relationship between idiomatic meaning structuring and idiom meaning within the phenomenon of idiomization. The idiom examples determined on the Rso-49 Qur’an Translation were analyzed under three headings based on the meaning transfer of idioms. When the formation of the idiom is investigated, if the meaning transfer refers to an event, situation or experience experienced in the past, examples of idioms formed on the basis of allusion If the relationship between idiomatic meaning structuring and idiom meaning is based on similarity, examples of idioms formed on the basis of metaphor If idiom meaning includes idiomatic meaning structuring, it is discussed under the heading of idiom examples formed on the basis of metonymy.
