1960’lı yılların Türkiye’si hâkim sınıfların içindeki çelişkilerin yeni bir boyut kazandığı; temel sınıflar arasındaki çelişkinin görünür hale geldiği ve bu sürecin kendisini kamusal yaşamın tüm veçhelerinde gösterdiği özgün bir döneme tanıklık eder. 1965 genel seçimlerinde Adalet Partisi’nin (AP) tek başına iktidara gelmesi, 1961 Anayasası’nın getirdiği temel hak ve özgürlükleri hâkim sınıf lehine sınırlandırmaya çalışması ve antikomünizmi merkeze alan bir politika izlemesi ideolojik hegemonya mücadelesinin sertleşmesine neden olmuştur. Sözü edilen mücadeleninnet gözlemlendiği alanlardan biri eğitimdir. Bu noktadan hareketle bu çalışma AP hükümetleri döneminde (1965-1971) solun eğitimin sorunlarını ele alış biçimlerini seçilmiş sol/sosyalist dergiler, Meclis tutanakları ve gazete haberlerinden (Milliyet) yararlanarak incelemeyi hedeflemektedir. Üniversite öncesi eğitim bahsinde hükümetin muhalif öğretmenlere yönelik uygulamalarına, dinsel eğitimin yaygınlaştırılması hamlelerine, “devrim için eğitim” tartışmalarına ve eğitimde ABD etkisine odaklanılacaktır. Yüksek öğretim başlığında ise hükümet ile üniversite arasındaki gerilim noktaları tarif edilecek; dönemin öğrenci eylemlerinin detaylandırılması yerine solun yüksek öğretimin sorunlarına ve gençliğe biçtiği misyona hangi perspektiften baktığı tespit edilmeye çalışılacaktır.
The 1960s in Turkey witnesses a original period in which contradictions within the ruling classes gained a new dimension; the contradictions between the basic classes became visible and this process showed itself in all the spheres of public life. The rise of the Justice Party (AP) to power alone in 1965 general elections, the attempt to limit the fundamental rights and freedoms brought by the 1961 Constitution to the benefit of the ruling class, and the follow-up of an anti-communism-centered policy have led to the hardening of the ideological hegemony struggle. One of the fields in which the struggle is observed is education. From this point of view, this study aims to study the forms of addressing the problems of left-wing education during the AP government period (1965-1971) by using selected left/socialist journals, parliamentary positions and newspaper news (National). The pre-university education discussion will focus on the practices of the government towards opposition teachers, the movements to spread religious education, the discussions of "education for revolution" and the U.S. impact on education. In the headline of higher education, the tensions between the government and the university will be described; instead of detailing the student actions of the period, the left will try to identify the issues of higher education and the mission of youth from which perspective.
