Turkish and Turkish Culture is a course aimed at improving Turkish children's basic language skills by ensuring that Turkish children abroad acquire their mother tongue effectively. This course, which is conducted with the teachers assigned by the Ministry of National Education, the programs it has put into practice and the books it publishes, are very important for Turkish children living in different countries to acquire both their mother tongue and the Turkish culture. The aim of this study is to compare the curricula prepared for Turkish and Turkish Culture lessons, where mother tongue and culture education is offered to Turkish children living abroad. Within the scope of the study, the last two curricula published by the Ministry of National Education in 2009 and 2018 were discussed. Document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. Turkish and Turkish Culture Course curricula 2009 and 2018 were examined according to the headings and formal features, general structures, approaches, goals and objectives, level of students they address, basic language skills and learning areas, practice and teaching and learning processes, achievements and assessment and evaluation criteria. Upon comparing the two curricula, important differences have been observed for the following: interculturality of the aims and goals of the curricula, transfer of national sentiment, criteria for classifying the basic language skills, quantity of learning outcomes, decrease in the number of titles in 2018 curriculum, details concerning practice and teaching processes. Since the both curricula share common chracteristics for student level, approaches for teaching, methods for assessment and evaluation, no relevant difference was noted.
