Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devleti, büyük zaferin ardından Anadolu'daki şehirlerde geri kalmışlığa son vermek adına bu şehirlerde kalkınma faaliyetlerine başlamıştır. Şehirlerin kalkınma faaliyetlerinin yürütülmesinde, bölgenin ve şehrin tarımı, ticareti, sosyal hayatı, sanayi alt yapıları gibi imkânları dikkate almıştır. Türkiye sınırları içinde Doğu Anadolu'nun en uç bölgesinde 3 ülkeye sınırı ile stratejik bir noktada bulunan Iğdır, kalkınma faaliyetleri yapılan şehirlerarasında yer almıştır. Iğdır’da verimli toprak arazileri temel alınarak tarım, ticaret, sanayi ve sosyal hayatın gelişmesi ve şehrin kalkınması için yoğun çalışmalara başlanmıştır. Bu kalkınma faaliyetleri yürütülürken, Türkiye'nin içinde bulunduğu ulusal ve uluslararası durumlar da göz önüne alınmıştır. Zaman zaman yaşanan siyasi ve ekonomik krizler ülke içinde dar boğazlara neden olmuştur. Bu durum, nitekim kalkınma faaliyetlerine de yansımıştır. Bu çalışmada, 1925-1955 yılları arasında Iğdır için yapılan devlet destekli kalkınma faaliyetleri, şehrin gelişimi üzerine alınan ilerlemelerin ve tek parti dönemi ile çok partili dönemde bu faaliyetlerdeki farklılıklar ve benzerliklerin neler olduğu arşiv belgeleri, ulusal ve yerel gazeteler ışığında incelenmeye çalışılmıştır.
The State of the Republic of Turkey has started its development activities in these cities in order to end the retardation in the cities of Anadolu after the great victory. In the conduct of the development activities of cities, it has taken into account the possibilities of the region and the city, such as agriculture, trade, social life, industrial substructs. In the Turkish border, Iğdır is located at a strategic point with a border to 3 countries in the eastern Anadolu region, the development activities are located among the cities. Based on productive land land in Iğdır; intense work for the development of agriculture, trade, industrial and social life and the development of the city has begun. During this development activities, the national and international situation in Turkey has also been taken into account. Political and economic crises have caused narrow throats within the country. This has also reflected its development activities. In this study, the state-supported development activities for Iğdır between 1925 and 1955, the progress taken on the development of the city and the differences and similarities in these activities in the one-party period and the multi-party period, the archive documents, national and local newspapers, were attempted to study.
After the great victory, in order to end to the backwardness in the cities of Anatolia, the Republic of Turkey has began its development activities in these cities. In the development activities of the cities, the region and the city's agriculture, trade, social life and industrial infrastructure potentials have also taken into account. Iğdır, a city in the Eastern Anatolia region in Turkey within the borders of three countries with the most extreme end of the country and located at a strategic point, was one of the cities where development activities have taken place. Based on fertile land areas in Iğdır; an intensive work has been started for the development of agriculture, trade, industry and social life, and the development of the city. During the execution of this development activities, national and international situation in the Turkey have been taken into account. From time to time, political and economic crises caused bottlenecks within the country. Thus, this situation is reflected in the development activities. In this study, the state supported development activities for Iğdır between 1925-1955, the progress on the development of the city and the single-party period and multi-party period, what the differences and similarities in these activities were examined in the light of the archival documents, national and local newspapers.
