Tazkiras are works in which the biographies of poets are told, their literary aspects are stated and examples of their poems are given. Latîfî also wrote his work in XVI. century and presented his work to Suleiman the Magnificent. XVI. century constitutes a time when the Ottoman Empire completed its development and reached its greatest borders. Therefore, this work, which contains examples of how a state that expands its borders and holds the economic and political dominance, develops its art, is very important in this respect. These works, which show whether the size of the state and its literature have risen proportionally, are reference sources for our literary history In the article The text studied by Rıdvan Canım as a doctoral thesis is based on. There are 334 poets in total in this copy. Among these poets II. Murad also sultan and şehzade poets up to Suleiman the Magnificent are mentioned. In the study, the chapters given to sultan and şehzade poets will be discussed and it will be discussed how Latîfî evaluated them and which aspects he highlighted. The basis of the study is to determine what kind of perspective Latîfî had on sultan poets, who complained that he was not respected enough during his lifetime.
