Abstract:

The Free Trade Agreement (STA) is a type of economic integration where the States Parties remove customs taxes and restrictions between themselves, where each Member State can apply its own national customs tariffs and origin rules. The aim of the Free Trade Agreements is to develop our foreign trade with neighboring and surrounding countries, to allow our exporters to compete in equal conditions in the external markets, especially with their competitors in the European market, to increase the international competitiveness of our country through mutual investments and joint initiatives, to develop economic cooperation between countries, to eliminate the obstacles to the circulation of goods and services, and to develop political, technological and social relations between the countries parties to the agreement. In this study, the effects of the Free Trade Agreements (STA) signed by Turkey on Turkish Foreign Trade were analyzed in two periods, prior to and after the agreement, and it was tried to be assessed in terms of export and import.
