Pakistan has been adversely affected by its decision to support the U.S. in the war against terrorism. The relations between Park and the US have experienced many vicissitudes. Pakistan has been inclined towards the US since its inception because of serious security threats from India. Pak-US alliance brought severe security challenges to Pakistan in the wake of the 9/11 incident. Thus, the US presence in Afghanistan and its unfair relations with Pakistan have shaken Pakistan's security. Understanding the security situation for Pakistan and its U.S. role in deteriorating security needs to address these security issues before and after Pakistan has joined.
