Günümüzde, gelişmekte olan ülkelerin üretim düzeylerini artırmada karşılaştıkları en önemli sorun iç tasarruf yetersizliğidir. Ülkeler, bu yüzden ortaya çıkan sermaye açığını giderebilmek için doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarını çekmeye çalışmaktadırlar. Doğrudan yabancı yatırımların sağladığı olanaklar ile üretim ve buna bağlı olarak ihracatta artışlar yaşanması, önemli bir politika hedefi haline gelmiştir. Yapılan ampirik çalışmalar, ülkeler üzerine gelen doğrudan yabancı yatırımların ihracatı artırıcı yönde etkilerinin olabileceğine ilişkin sonuçlar ortaya koymaktadır. Literatürde doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının sektör bazında etkilerini inceleyen sınırlı sayıda çalışma mevcuttur. Bu bağlamda gelen yabancı yatırımların sektörel bazda etkilerinin incelenmesi ayrıca önem arzetmektedir. Bu çalışmada, doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının, Türkiye’nin tekstil sektörü üzerindeki etkileri analiz edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Yaptığımız ekonometrik çalışmaların sonucu olarak, tekstil endüstrisine gelen doğrudan yabancı yatırımların, ihracatı artırıcı etkileri olduğu görülmüştür. Bu anlamda, bu üretim alanı için doğrudan yatırımların, kalkınma hedeflerine uygun bir nitelik taşıdığı ifade edilebilir.
Today, the most important problem that developing countries face in increasing production levels is the lack of internal savings. The countries, therefore, are trying to draw foreign capital investments directly to solve the emerging capital gap. The possibilities provided by foreign direct investments and the increase in production and as a result in exports have become a major policy target. The empirical studies reveal the findings that foreign direct investments in countries may have an impact on exports. There is a limited number of studies in literature that study the impact of foreign capital investments directly on the sector basis. The study of the impact of foreign investments in this context on the industry basis is also of importance. In this study, it was attempted to analyze the effects of foreign capital investments on the textile sector of Turkey. As a result of the econometric studies we have done, foreign direct investments in the textile industry have seen an increase in exports. In this sense, it can be expressed that direct investments for this production area have a quality in accordance with the development objectives.

As a result of our econometric studies, it has been observed that foreign direct investments in the textile industry have an increasing effect on exports. In this sense, it can be stated that direct investments for this production area are in accordance with the development goals.
