Son yıllarda giderek artan sosyal medya hesapları, forum gibi paylaşım platformlarında yayınlanan bilimsel olarak hatalı çoktan seçmeli sorular öğretmen ve öğrencilerde kavram yanılgılarına neden olmakta ve var olan yanılgıları daha çok yaygınlaştırmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, 8. sınıf fen bilimleri dersi kapsamında yer alan biyoloji konuları için hazırlanmış ve sosyal medyada yer alan soruların, ölçme ve değerlendirme boyutunda kullanılmasına yönelik fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca araştırmada, bu sorularda kavram yanılgılarına neden olabilecek bilimsel hatalar konusunda fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin farkındalık düzeylerinin belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Araştırmada, sosyal medyada paylaşılan hücre bölünmesi, eşeyli ve eşeysiz üreme konuları ile canlılar ve enerji ilişkileri ünitesi kapsamında yer alan besin zincirleri, fotosentez ve solunum konularına ait sorular incelemiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ve iki bölümden oluşan form kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları, Türkiye’nin farklı illerinde görev yapmakta olan 20 fen bilimleri öğretmenidir. Araştırma bulguları incelendiğinde, fen bilimleri öğretmenlerinin, sosyal medyadaki soruları, kolay ulaşılabilir olması nedeniyle ölçme araçlarında kullanmayı tercih ettikleri bu sorulardaki bilimsel hatalara ilişkin farkındalıklarının az olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmaya katılan öğretmenlerin %85’inin sorulardaki hataları ve kavram yanılgısına neden olacak cevapları fark edemedikleri belirlenmiştir.
In recent years, increasing social media accounts, scientifically erroneous already selected questions published on platforms such as forums, have caused conceptual errors in teachers and students and have spread the existing errors more and more. This study aims to identify the views of the teachers of science on the use in measurement and evaluation of the questions on social media, prepared for the biology subjects included in the course of 8th grade of science. In addition, the research aimed at determining the level of awareness of the teachers of science about scientific errors that could lead to conceptual errors in these questions. In the study, the social media shared cells division, equal and uneven reproduction issues, and the nutritional chains, photosynthesis and respiratory issues included within the unit of living and energy relationships. The form was developed by researchers as a data collection tool and was used in two sections. The participants in the study are 20 teachers of sciences working in different regions of Turkey. When research findings are examined, it has been found that science teachers prefer to use questions on social media in measurement tools because they are easily accessible; they have little awareness of scientific errors in these questions. 85% of the teachers who participated in the study found that they did not realize the errors in the questions and the answers that would lead to conceptual errors.
