The aim of this study is to evaluate the roles and responsibilities of social workers working in non-governmental organizations (NGOs) providing services to Syrians under temporary protection from a social work perspective. Social workers working in NGO’s providing services to Syrians under temporary protection often perform micro-sized work. The approach that social workers use most during their work is the “Empowerment Approach”. They also enjoyed thme most advocacy roles during professional interventions. The problem that social workers face most in this area is the language barrier. Social workers have stated that they don’t have difficulty applying the principle of aceeptance while continuing their professional work. Generally it is thought that the structure of NGO’s aiming at the culture of democracy and social welfare coincides with the macro scale goals of social work. This situation creates the expectation that NGO’s will create a serious employment area for social workers in the near future.
