In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between university students' social media addiction and narcissism. The sample consists of 609 students between the ages of 18 and 30 studying at a university in Istanbul. Personal Information Form, Social Media Addiction Scale-Adult Form, Narcissistic Personality Inventory-13 were used in the study. Inventories are filled with Google Survey. SPSS 22.0 package program was used for data analysis. It was seen that the data did not show normal distribution as a result of the normality test. In order to analyze the data, Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U and Spearman Correlation tests, which are descriptive analysis and non-parametric tests, were applied.

According to the results of the research, a positive relationship was found between social media addiction and narcissism. The level of narcissism differs according to gender and the number of followers/friends on social media platforms. Social media addiction differs according to the time spent on social media during the day. The frequency of use of social media tools together with the technological development has made it possible to deal with social media and narcissism together. The individuals with a high level of narcissism were found to be highly successful at using the social media.
