Op Art, which emerged in Europe in the 1960s, systematically combined colors, forms and lines with aesthetics in order to create visual effects. It is thought that the Op Art movement is related to the Gestalt Theory, one of the visual perception theories, and it is the most common of the theories discussed in the context of associating it with the design process in the field of design. Knitting, which has an important place in textile construction techniques, is constantly developing with new technologies and this keeps the knitwear sector in a dynamic structure. Optical Art, inspired by knitwear designers, has been among the art movements that many designers and brands are influenced by. In this study, the relations of knitwear designs of brands and fashion designers fed by Op Art with this art were examined in terms of model features. The method of this research is document analysis used in qualitative research. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. It has been seen that designers and brands consciously bring together the illusion of perception belonging to Optical Art works with visual perception elements such as shape-ground perception, depth, movement and color in their knitwear designs.
