1950'lerde ortaya çıkan İkinci Yeni şiir hareketi Türk şiirinin bugünlerini koşullayan son büyük atılımlardandır. Hareket, kurucuları arasında pek çok isim bulunmasına rağmen zamanla sadece birkaç şairle anılır olmuştur. Bunda kimi isimlerin hareketin taşı¬dığı karakteristik özelliklerin dışında bir poetika izlemeleri belirleyici olmuştur. Nihat Ziyalan (1936-) da 1950’lerde kaleme aldığı ilk şiirleriyle İkinci Yeni ile anılmasına, hatta temelkoyucu olarak görülmesine rağmen ilerleyen yıllarda kendine özgü konu ve şiir poetikasıyla bu hareketin şiir anlayışından ayrılmıştır. Bu çalışmada Nihat Ziyalan'ın 1950’lerde başlayıp günümüze kadar devam eden şairliğini koşullayan yaşamı ve bu süre içinde poetikası ve yazdığı şiir kitapları araştırılmıştır. Keşfedici araştırma çeşidini temsilen bu çalışmada bilgiler mülakat yöntemi, doküman analizi kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Bu amaçla 1980’lerde Avustralya’ya göç eden şair Avustralya’da ziyaret edilmiş, şairle yaşamı, poetikası ve eserleri üzerine görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Yapılan görüşmeler elektronik aygıtla kayıt altına alınmıştır. Şairden temin edilen ve otobiyografisine gönderme yapan eserler ve şair hakkında yazılı kaynaklarda toplanan veriler ve şairin bugüne kadar yayınlanan sekiz şiir kitabı incelenerek öne çıkan konular saptanmıştır. Çalışmanın bulgularının İkinci Yeni de dahil 20. yüzyılın ikinci yarısından günümüze Türk şiirini zenginleştirici nitelikler taşıdığına inanılmaktadır.
The Second New Poetry Movement, which emerged in the 1950s, is one of the last major breakthroughs in the present day of Turkish poetry. The movement, though there were many names among its founders, has been mentioned by only a few poets over time. In this, some names have been determining a poetic observation except the characteristic characteristics of the movement. Nihat Ziyalan (1936-) was also mentioned in his first poems in the 1950s with the Second New, even though it was seen as a basic teacher in the years ahead, with his own theme and poetic poetry, separated from the poetic understanding of this movement. In this study, the life of Nihat Ziyalan, starting in the 1950s and continuing to the present day, and during this period, his poetry and his poetic books were studied. In this study, which represents the variety of explorer research, information is collected using the method of interview, document analysis. For this purpose, the poet who migrated to Australia in the 1980s visited Australia, with the poet discussed his life, poetry and works. The conversations were recorded by electronic devices. The data collected in written sources about the works provided by the poet and the autobiography and the poet’s eight poem books published so far have been identified by examining the topics. It is believed that the findings of the study, including the Second New, from the second half of the 20th century to the present day have enriching the Turkish poetry qualities.
Established in 1950s the İkinci Yeni (The Second New) movement was one of the biggest breakthroughs in Turkish literature also influencing current poetry. Even though the movement had several founders, over time it was spoken about with the mention of a select few. These individuals were mentioned not because of their alignment with characteristic features of the movement but rather their poetic styles. Despite being remembered as being a part of the İkinci Yeni Movement with his first poems, and even seen as a founder of the movement by some Nihat Ziyalan was separated from this classification due to the subjects he chose and his poetics in the following years. In this article, we will take a look at Nihat Ziyalan’s lifestyle which conditioned his writing style while also delving into his poetics and his poetry books. Using an exploratory type of research the study acquired information using document analysis and an interview method. For this purpose, the poet was visited and interviewed about his way of living, understanding of poems and his works. The Interviews were recorded using an electronic device. Using the poet's autobiography, poetic works from 8 published books and information regarding the poet from several different written sources prominent topics were identified. Amongst the findings of the article in which İkinci Yeni was also analysed it is believed that Turkish poetry from the second half of the 20th century has had an enriching effect on poetry as a whole.
