Abstract:

The campus ombudsman or the institution commonly referred to as the student ombudsman is a mechanism that concerns campus issues, takes the role of consulting or mediation for individuals, and also provides feedback for institutions. Basically in this article, a case analysis was carried out through the student ombudsman unit founded in 2019 at Altınbaş University, which examined how the unit contributed to the establishment of good management principles within the institution. In this context, the structure, function and development of student ombudsman, which is one of the practices of organizational ombudsman, was first addressed with the general lines of the concept and history of the ombudsman. With the appearance of the application at the Altınbaş University, it was possible to compare with the examples in the world. In the analysis of the activity of the unit, the annual activity report collected within the institution at the Altınbaş University and the results of the survey that students evaluate the service they receive from the unit were taken advantage of.
