Identities have evolved within the dynamics of the traditional and modern era. The comprehensive findings and results obtained show that the transformation in identity is on a continuum. The study uses modernity as a context for identity, by centering the phenomenon of identity and the factors and institutions that are effective in the formation processes of identity. Identities can be classified and examined in many ways. What is important at this point is the criteria according to which identity is classified. In this framework, their identities are individual and social identities It is possible to classify them as categories such as given and acquired identities. Many institutions and factors affect the formation of identity. In the study, factors such as religion, ethnicity, gender, ideology, occupation, age, education and place of residence are discussed in terms of the roles they play in the construction of identities. In this framework, identities are shaped under the influence of factors such as language, ideology, religious belief, age, and institutions and actors such as family and political party. These factors are effective in the construction process of identity, sometimes alone or by establishing relations with each other.
