The city is conceptually directly related to the concepts of culture, humanity and space. When we talk about the city-poetry relationship in our literature, Istanbul comes to mind. From literature to history, from architecture to music, the Turkish culture and civilization are displayed in Istanbul, a city that has been a subject of culture, songs and poems from the past to the present day. Istanbul has been a place that has attracted and loved many poets because it is both part of our culture and a social and physical structure that guides it. Since poetry is an art in close relationship with life and experience, many poets have discussed Istanbul in their poems. These poets have contributed to the city’s identity with their poems of history, culture, natural beauty and individual experiences. Through these poems, Istanbul has become an immortal place and has been rebuilt. Man is living in a place, and man is living in a place. Istanbul is one of the most important cities in the world for human-space integration. Istanbul, known as the "Seven Mountains City", has become a "cultural city" in the historic process and has become the subject of many poems in Turkish poetry. The subject of love and the subject of love is always in these poems. There is an untouchable connection between the place and man. The strongest form of this connection appears between the poet and the city. The poet’s emotional bond with the city makes us better understand the city’s past and the present. The aim of this work, which covers the poems on Istanbul love, is to determine the layers of meaning of love for the city in Turkish poetry, in terms of history, culture, natural beauty, desire and individual experience.
