Classical Turkish literature developed two branches, consisting of prose and verse; however, in general, verse has been the respected one. Such that, history books, advice studies, mystical artifacts, glossaries, poets biographies which enter the field of prose are even written in verse. But, this does not mean significant work is not given or prominent personalities are not educated in the field of prose. While this literature brings up great poets such as Fuzuli, Baki and Nedim; it has also seen significant prose writers like Sinan Pasa, Veysi and Nergisi. Also, one of the most important personalities in the field of prose is Okcuzade Mehmed Shahi. His prose is discussed in the article.
