This study is a descriptive content analysis study aimed to determine general trends of graduate thesis studies published on analogy in science education in Turkey. The thesis studies using analogy in science education were scanned at the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education between 2002 and 2019, and 29 studies that were accessible within the scope of this study were examined according to different variables. Studies in the field of analogy year, publication type, purpose of the research, subject area, method of the research, selected sample, data collection tools, data analysis techniques, validity, reliability, duration of implementation, results and recommendations of the research were evaluated. As a result of the study, it was concluded that master thesis studies were more than the others related to analogy in science education, and more studies were conducted in 2019. The studies in the field of analogy mostly researched success, attitude and persistence. “Matter” subject was studied more in the subject area. The studies were mostly conducted with middle school students. Quantitative methods were used more than the other methods. As data collection tools, achievement tests, Likert type scales, and interviews were mostly used. The examined studies results indicated that using analogy had positive effect in increasing academic success, attitude, persistence. The most common recommendations were determined as “research can be done with different subjects, different courses, different samples and different class levels” and “teachers should practice analogy methods with in-service seminars". In the studies to be carried out, it is recommended to use research methods that allow examination thoroughly.
