The LPG electronic control unit (ECU) automatically diagnoses the sensors and data signals according to the engine’s different load and road conditions, preparing the best amount of mixture and controlling the injectors to transfer this prepared mixture to the absorption manifold at the right time. Signals from the LPG pressure sensor, the LPG heat sensor, the motor rotation sensor and the gas injectors are transmitted to the LPG electronic control unit for the preparation of the amount of LPG fuel. In this study, the components of an existing LPG system were studied. Considering the work stages of the system, the functional characteristics of the electronic control unit of the LPG system were evaluated and a new control unit was designed in the light of the analyzed data. The new designed LPG electronic control unit was observed by testing in real road conditions how it controlled the 4 LPG fuel injectors placed on a 4-cylinder, bush-burning engine. The performance of the test vehicle, fuel savings and the conformity of the vehicle with the designed LPG electronic control unit were monitored in different road, temperature and speed conditions and the suitability of the product was checked.
