Güney Afrika ekonomisinde politika düzenlemeleriyle birlikte önemli bir yer edinmiş yaratıcı endüstriler meselesi, araştırma raporlarında ve makalelerde çoğunlukla olumlu çıktıları üzerinden ele alınmaktadır. Ancak birtakım araştırma verileri, Güney Afrika’nın kendine has tarihsel ve toplumsal süreçlerinin yarattığı eşitsizliklerin, yaratıcı sektörler içinde yeniden üretildiğini göstermektedir. Bu verilere referansla bu çalışma kapsamında, literatürde uzun süredir tartışılan yaratıcı endüstriler konusu Güney Afrika bağlamında irdelenmiş, yaratıcı endüstrilerin ekonomiye katkısı, kentsel gelişime etkileri ve kendi içinde barındırdığı eşitsizlikler tarihsel ve sosyolojik bir bağlama oturtulmaya çalışılmıştır. Bunun sonucunda yaratıcı endüstrilerde ortaya çıkan eşitsizliklerin, Güney Afrika’da üstesinden gelinmeye çalışılan kurumsallaşmış eşitsizlik örüntülerinin devamı niteliğinde oldukları ortaya konulmuştur.
The issue of creative industries, which has gained an important place in the South African economy along with its policy arrangements, is mostly addressed through its positive outcomes in research reports and articles. However, a number of research data shows that the inequalities created by South Africa’s own historical and social processes are re-produced within creative sectors. With reference to these data, in this study, the subject of creative industries discussed for a long time in literature has been focused on the context of South Africa, the contribution of creative industries to the economy, the impact on urban development and the inequalities in itself have been attempted to set up a historical and sociological link. As a result, the inequalities arising in the creative industries have been revealed as a continuation of corporate inequalities that are trying to overcome in South Africa.
