Abstract:

This study aims to reveal the current status of intensive maintenance costs studies performed in the national and international literature in the type of qualitative and quantitative research. The research is conducted in the framework of the research method. In the study, the data collection was used for document examination. The study was carried out in the context of 240 research studies in the field of intensive care. In the analysis of data, the content analysis method was used. The research has increased the credibility of the research by applying to the opinions of five experts with general knowledge of the subject of the research and quality research methods. According to the research results, the majority of the studies under the quantitative research method were made; more research was carried out on infections, medicines, healthcare staff and chronic diseases. As a method of data analysis, economic analysis and cost-efficiency analysis are preferred. The extension of the number of days spent and increased the cost of intensive care of medications, while teletapic and parenteral nutrition has been shown to reduce the cost of intensive care. It has also been shown that the payments made by the refund agency and the nursing tracking program both increase and decrease the cost of intensive care. According to the research results, it is recommended to do quantitative studies to determine which intensive maintenance unit causes the change in intensive maintenance costs.
