Bu çalışmanın amacı özel yetenek sınavlarına katılan öğrencilerin karar verme ve düşünme stillerini belirleyebilmek.Çalışma grubunu Atatürk üniversitesi ve Kafkas üniversitesi beden eğitimi ve spor yüksekokulu özel yetenek sınavlarına katılan 453'ü erkek 247'si kız toplam 700 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Epstein ve Ark.(1996)1 tarafından geliştirilen Türkçeye uyarlanması Buluş(2000)2 tarafından yapılan rasyonel-yaşantısal düşünme stilleri ölçeği ve Scott ve Burce (1995)3 tarafından geliştirilen Taşdelen (2002)4 tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan karar verme stilleri ölçeği araştırmaya katılan öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Verilerin çözüm ve yorumlamasında t Testi, Çoklu Doğrusal Regresyon Analizi (Multiple Linear Regression) kullanılarak anlamlılık P<0,05 alınmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde ve hesaplanmış değerlerin bulunmasında SPSS (Statistical package for social sciences) paket programı kullanılmıştır. Bu çalışmanın sonucunda Özel yetenek sınavlarına katılan öğrencilerin karar verme ve düşünme stilleri bakımından cinsiyetler ve branşlar arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmamıştır. Ayrıca ilişki düzeylerine baktığımızda öğrencilerin düşünme stillerinin karar verme stillerinden rasyonel karar verme, sezgisel karar verme, bağımlı karar verme, kaçıngan karar verme, anlık karar verme alt boyutları arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır. The group of this search is composed of totally 700 students (453 male students and 247 female students) that participate the special ability examination of Atatürk and Kafkas University Physical Education and Sport Department. "Experiential and Rational Thinking Style Scale" which was developed by Epstein and others (1996)1 and translated into Turkish by Buluº (2000)2 and also "Decision Making Style Scale" which was developed by Scott and Burce (1995)3 and translated into Turkish by Taºdelen (2002)4 was executed to the participant students. In determining and comment the data, the meaningfulness was set at P< 0,05 by using t test and Multiple Linear Regression. SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) was used for analyzing the data and finding the calculated worth. As a result of this study, it wasn't found that there was a difference in significance between sexualities and branches in respect of the thinking and decision making styles of the student that participate special ability examination. Besides, when we looked at relation's levels, between the thinking styles of the students and students' subcategories of decision making style of the students which were the rational decision making, the intuitive decision making, the dependent decision making, the avoidant decision making and the spontaneous decision making were occurred to be a significance relation. The aim of this study is to be able to determine the decision-making and thinking styles of students who participate in the special skill exams.The study group includes 453 men and 247 girls who participate in the special skill exams at the University of Atatürk and the University of Kafkas. Epstein and Ark.Adaptation to Turkish developed by (1996)1 was applied to students who participated in the research of the scale of the rational-life thinking styles made by Discovery(2000)2 and the scale of the decision-making styles adapted to Turkish by Taşdelen (2002)4 developed by Scott and Burce (1995)3. In the analysis and interpretation of the data, the t test, using the Multiple Linear Regression (Multiple Linear Regression), took the meaning P<0,05. The SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) program is used to evaluate data and find calculated values. As a result of this study, there was no significant difference between gender and branches in terms of decision-making and thinking styles of students who participated in the Special Talent Exam. Also, when we look at the relationships levels, it has been revealed that the students’ thinking styles have a meaningful relationship between the subdimensions of the decision-making styles of rational decision-making, intuitive decision-making, dependent decision-making, avoidance decision-making, instant decision-making.
