Abstract:

In this study, the novel "Kusma Club" by Mehmet Eroğlu will be studied as an example of the literature of the coup period that emerged with the defeat of the left after September 12 in Turkish Literature. As a 12 September novel, the assessment of the Kusma Club in the context of the questioning and re-establishment of masculinity is the main objective of the study. In the 12th September novels, internal queries, psychological discontractions and individual identity issues are combined with the role that social gender relationships are acquired in the fiction, these novels become readable stories in the context of the construction of masculinity. In this novel, the social gender relationships in the text will be evaluated as the area of self-confidence, independence and strengthening of the main character Hope, who is among the losers of society. In this way, the forms of masculinity will also be open to discussion. The novel will discuss the construction of the male form and the relationship with other male forms. A different reading of the novel will be made that the main character is reinforced by reconstructing through the women in which the masculinity is associated.
